1. Test Debut vs. New Zealand – An injury to Michael Vaughan meant Strauss took his place at the top of the order when the Kiwis came to Lords in 2004. It proved to be a brilliant debut as Strauss made 112 and 82 before he was run out by Nasser Hussain, becoming only the third England opener to make a hundred on debut. England won the game and Strauss cemented his place in the side.
