Chris Scott

Chris Scott, Durham keeper

3. Chris Scott – Legendary West Indian batsman Brian Lara was playing for Warwickshire against Durham in the County Championship in 1994. After making just 18, he nicked one through to the Durham keeper Chris Scott who put down the regulation chance. He ruefully said to his slips, ‘I bet he goes on to make a hundred now.’ Well, he was half right. Lara didn’t just go on to make a hundred, he went on to make five of them, scoring 501 not out to make Scott’s the costliest drop of all time at 483 runs.
