Montserrat

MONTSERRAT

Confederation: CONCACAF

FIFA Ranking: 203

Stadium: Blakes Estate Stadium

Colours: White and Green

Head Coach: Kenny Dyer

Fun Fact: In 2002, the same day as the World Cup Final, Montserrat took on Bhutan in a clash known as ‘The Other Match’ to decide who was officially the worst side in the world. They lost 4-0.

Despite being formed in 1973, the side didn’t gain FIFA recognition till 1996 and the side has never won a game since this date. They have beaten Anguilla twice before in 1995, but their Caribbean Cup record is atrocious, something matched by the three World Cup qualifiers they have contested. A defeat to rivalsBermuda20-0 on aggregate represented their worst defeat of all time and the side has generally played away from home since the heavy volcanic activity on the island since 1995. Former Tottenham star Ruel Fox did appear twice for the national side though.
